Description

ENCORE seeks  an intern with some theater experience for the dual role of  Instruction/Production Intern, working approx 30-40  hours/week  June 2024 through Mid August and  10-15 hours per week August through February 2025. The intern will work with youth teaching acting, singing and dancing and managing groups of children during camps and rehearsals ensuring a safe creative environment.  Production  tasks include  taking notes, communicating with participants, making mic, costume, or shift plots, stage managing a rehearsal, working backstage or in the box office during productions, and/or working with small groups to review at the director's discretion.  Experience in/near theater, familiarity with Microsoft and Google programs, excellent customer service skills and strong communication skills are a must. 
 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be highly  organized and be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.  The candidate must be comfortable working with children and have experience performing in or being involved with musical theater.  A strong working knowledge of  Microsoft Office and Google Suite, along with excellent customer service and communication skills is required. Experience with virtual programming, musical theater, and basic knowledge of audio and lighting are preferred but not required. Additionally, the intern will assist with various aspects of running a theater program, including processing student enrollments, creating and selling tickets, answering emails and phone calls, and contributing ideas as part of the planning team.
